Funerals and Memorials

Funerals can be a difficult time for everyone. That’s why as a Funeral Celebrant I pride myself in creating a lasting memory of your loved ones.

From my many years of experience listening to individuals and families about their needs and requirements, I have been able to develop my skills to make sure that I can capture the true essence of your loved one with the dignity and respect that they deserve.

As I have no affiliation with any particular religion, I can offer a truly unique ceremony. This means the service can contain religious elements such as hymns, readings or prayers. Or non-religious ones such as music, stories, poems/readings and personal tributes.

Throughout the creation and delivery of the Order of Service I will be there to guide and support you in creating a truly unique tribute to your loved one.

Why Should I Choose a Civil Funeral?

A Civil Funeral allows you the freedom to create a ceremony that is personalised to you and your loved ones. Allowing family and friends to celebrate the life of a loved one in a way that special to them.

The ceremonies often take place at a crematorium or non-religious burial site. The location is chosen by the family. This can be at a chapel, an outdoor place, or a venue that is meaningful to the person who has died.

Below are a few examples of alternative locations for you to consider.

Funeral Service

Traditionally funeral services or either a burial or cremation. Both offer a chance to celebrate the life of a loved one in many different ways. From listening to their life story, to selected readings and poems, as well as personalised music that they loved.

Scattering or Interment of Ashes

A simple ceremony after the cremation. This involves scattering or burying the ashes of your loved one in a special place. This place is generally somewhere with happy memories. Bringing peace and comfort to loved ones knowing that the one you have lost is somewhere they loved for the eternity.

Memorial Service

A memorial service is typically held some weeks after a private, family funeral. It is a longer, bespoke ceremony, which offers time to reflect and celebrate a person’s life and legacy. This is a good choice – if the person was very well-known and a large number of people want to pay their respects.

Living Funeral

These are becoming more popular. This allows friends and family to celebrate the life of a loved one while they are still with us. Allowing them to say goodbye on their terms to those they love.
